The search for King Tut's tomb and its treasures becomes a life-and-death adventure for two archaeologists. One is Danny Freemont. He wants to protect the purported powers of the tomb for the good of man. The other is the nefarious Morgan Sinclair. He wants to harness the incredible powers to control the world.

Hintergrund: Die Dreharbeiten fanden größtenteils in den indischen Städten Jaipur und Mumbai statt. Jonathan Hyde, der die Rolle des Morgan Sinclair übernahm, klagte später, der Film sei ein entsetzlicher Haufen dummes Zeug und er habe das Engagement nur angenommen, weil er zuvor noch nie in Indien gewesen sei.
